I wish someone would explain to me how anyone can claim that gays should not be allowed to marry because it would take away the sanctity of marriage.
Marriage is sacred as long as it is between a man and woman? Well, not exactly; Mario Lopez and Ali Landry who dated for six years were married less than two weeks. Dennis Rodman and Carmen Electra were married a total of nine days, as well as Cher and Gregg Allman. I guess you could find that to be okay, after all it is a day longer than Dennis Hopper and Michelle Phillips made it. Then again compared to Britney Spears and Jason Alexander’s fifty five hour marriage anything looks good. Then there is Zsa Zsa Gabor and Felipe de Alba, Robin Givens and Syetozar Marinkovic, whose marriages lasted only a day. Know I don’t know about you, but I am pretty sure anyone with a few functioning brain cells could figure out before a one day marriage that it is probably not a good idea in the first place.
Yes I know, I should look at others, some people can make a marriage last more than two weeks.
Liza Minelli, Joan Collins, and Martin Scorsese are some good examples; well if you overlook the fact that they have known the “sanctity of marriage” 4 times, all ending in D-I-V-O-R-C-E. Yes, again you are correct that is not so bad since Billy Bob Thornton, and Danielle Steel have five each under their belt. I thought that my list would certainly have to end there, that is until I remembered Larry King. Mr. King has understood the “sanctity of marriage” with his six divorces. Yet again, if I were to end my list I would be leaving out more, no LOTS more divorces. There is Jerry Lee Lewis and his six divorces, one of which being his 13 year old cousin he married, how sacred is that? There is Elizabeth Taylor, divorced seven times, YES seven the same as Zsa Zsa Gabor. That is a divorce for every day of the week. Ah but wait, you didn’t really think I was finished did you? Well, not quite; I believe on giving credit where credit is due, so here’s to you Lana Turner and you’re eight divorces.
So marriage is sacred huh? Maybe you should rethink that delusional idea, and try using your tiny closed mind for something else. Marriage and it’s so called sanctity seems to be something that those who love to talk about know nothing about!
